Music is one element in a wedding that can truly be as unique as you are.

Whether your tastes are mainstream or offbeat, general or specific, Stylus DJs take the time to listen, to ask questions and to make suggestions while curating a custom soundtrack to one of the most important days of your life.

If the musical goal of your event is to reflect your personalities, to please your guests, to make a great dance party, or all of the above, we put the energy and focus into getting the balance right.

With Stylus, you can give as much or as little input as you like into the song selection process. Some clients have a long list of songs in mind already, while others need help and welcome our knowledge and expertise. In any case, we don't rely on generic set lists or preconceived notions about what wedding music is "supposed" to sound like.

We are reliable, professional, music-loving DJs who keep the party flowing without gimmicks or trying to be the center of attention. We pay close attention to your Must Plays, your Do Not Plays, and your openness to guest requests. No requests? No problem! Preparing a thoughtful pool of music, reading the crowd and adapting to the moment is what makes the party come alive.

Many of our clients are looking for an alternative to the typical cheesy DJ - someone who really "gets" them and their musical goal. For example:

• Do you have very particular or unusual musical tastes? Are you a serious music lover, crate digger, collector, musician, former college radio DJ? Do you go to concerts, follow Pitchfork lists, listen to independent radio?

• Are you detail-oriented, "Type A," into organization and spreadsheets? Are you working toward an advanced degree or busy with a professional career and need vendors who can keep up with you and execute your vision perfectly?

• Are you going against the grain relative to family/guest expectations, musically, culturally or otherwise, or are you consciously accommodating those expectations?

• Are you looking for a low-pressure, low-hype vibe? Are you shy or uncomfortable being in the spotlight? Are you or your guests more reserved or not big dancers?

Unsure of what you want? Looking for guidance? Perhaps you have a list of things you don't want?

Whatever the situation, our goal is to make the music planning process seamless and stress-free. If these qualities resonate with you, please get in touch. We could be the perfect match!

Are you available on my date? Will you take gigs on short notice?
Please get in touch to find out! While pricing is transparent, we prefer to keep our private event schedule private, and will always do our best to accommodate last-minute bookings.

Do you have liability insurance?
Yes, and we will provide proof for your venue on request.

What payment methods do you accept?
Checks, Venmo, PayPal and Credit Cards. Please make checks payable to Jane Elizabeth (first name + last name).

What kind of deposit do you require?
Approximately 1/3 to reserve the date, with the balance due the day of the event. Please contact us for a blank copy of the contract.

Will the DJ require a meal at my event?
Yes - vendor meals are customary and always appreciated. We generally prefer to eat discreetly from the DJ table and don't take many breaks.

Will the DJ drink alcohol at my event?

Will the DJ make announcements?
We are totally comfortable making any announcements you need to keep the flow of the party going.

Will the DJ take requests from guests?
We love taking requests and interacting with your guests! If you prefer otherwise, we will politely decline or suggest a song or style we've already agreed on.

Can we give the DJ a must play/do not play list?
Yes, this is strongly encouraged, and we will ask for some of your favorite bands and genres and those your guests may enjoy. Otherwise, you may have as much or as little control over the song pool as you like, and we'll take care of the rest.

Who provides the actual music?
We do! Chances are we already have what you need or can get it via our subscription service. If not, we will find a solution with you.

How many songs will you be able to play?
15-20 songs per hour. We consider it precious real estate.

Can you edit or loop a particular song to fit our needs?
Yes, basic edits are included, and are often used for processionals, recessionals, or other milestone events such as introductions and cake cutting.

We would like some of the music to reflect a particular culture (e.g., Jewish, Spanish, Indian, etc.) - can you accommodate?

Do you book events other than weddings, like corporate events, bar/bat mitzvahs and birthday parties?
Yes - let's discuss!

What is your contingency plan?
DJs don't take sick days, but in case of an emergency with advance notice, we would do our best to find a replacement and make your shared timeline and music organizer available to him or her. We are currently a team of 5 and have 2 in training.

We prefer/require a female DJ...
If you are looking for a female DJ for any reason, we currently have five amazing ladies on the team, with more in training.

Are you LGBTQ-friendly?

Did we miss anything?

Dani & Nathan, Philadelphia, PA

Jane read the crowd on the dance floor perfectly. We had people raving about the music for days after, ranging from older guests to our youngest friends. The dance floor was packed all night!

Leigh-Anne & Ryan, Asbury Park, NJ

Literally, we danced all night. People are still talking about the music three months later. We gave her guidelines, but freedom to feel the crowd and play what she thought would keep people dancing. It worked.

Nettie & Dave, Philadelphia, PA

We feel so lucky to have found Jane Elizabeth of Stylus DJ Entertainment to DJ our wedding! Everyone danced for hours, non-stop! We can't imagine that night without Jane as our DJ, she's incredible!

Alice & Alex, Philadelphia, PA

Jane Elizabeth and the music were one of the absolute gems from our wedding. She completely understands how music can impact the flow and the feel of a wedding. She just gets it, and we are so grateful we found her.

Tory & Nate, Philadelphia, PA

We absolutely loved working with Jane...I would highly recommend Jane to anyone looking for a DJ who has great taste in music, and who really listens to her clients. Thank you for making our wedding rock!

Kate & Jorge, Newark, NJ

She was wonderful to work with, accommodated our tastes, and seemed to have a great instinct for what we wanted ('no' to Electric Slide requests, 'yes' to Portuguese folk music). We would highly recommend her DJ services to anyone.

Leah & John, Washingtonville, NY

As soon as we spoke to Jane, we knew she'd be perfect. She really knows her stuff, no matter the genre. Even though it was mid day during a heatwave, and the AC couldn't keep up, everyone danced and had a great time.

Amy & Joel, Philadelphia, PA

Jane was the hero of our wedding. She completely understood our very specific and idiosyncratic musical tastes, working with us to provide the perfect playlist for each part of the evening.

Meredith & Tom, Highlands, NJ

My husband found Jane and we could not be happier with her DJ services at our wedding. She's really phenomenal!

Jenifer & Aaron, Queens, NY

We were thrilled to find a DJ who understood that some kids don't want cheesy games and rave music at a Bat Mitzvah! Our daughter had a wonderful time enjoying her favorite tunes in a stress-free atmosphere.

Kate & Zack, New York, NY

Jane was such a pleasure to work with and an amazing DJ for our wedding. She was recommended to us by a close friend and we could not have found a better DJ if we had spent months looking.

Lauren & Ian, Long Island, NY

Jane was exactly what my husband and I were looking for! We cannot recommend her enough! Guests kept asking about Jane because she was such a hit! My brother even inquired about hiring her for another party.

Miranda & Chris, Philadelphia, PA

Jane was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. She has a great knowledge of all different kinds of music and had no trouble learning our unique styling and putting together an absolutely perfect playlist for our wedding.

Becky & Jake, New York, NY

Holy Wedding DJ, Batman! Jane is incredible. I had a lot of anxiety about finding a DJ who would understand my somewhat eclectic taste and dislike of traditional wedding music. Finding Jane was a miracle.

Gretchen & Doro, Brooklyn, NY

Jane was a stellar DJ. We had a queer wedding and wanted a hip young vibe, but also lots of toasts and with traditional wedding timeline. Organized and nice!
